Gerald "Gerry" Richman, former president of the Florida Bar, is board certified in civil trials and business litigation and he is one of the most widely respected lawyers in the State. As just one example of his many accomplishments, Gerry served as lead trial counsel during one of the nationally-televised presidential election vote cases in 2000.
Prior to his private practice of law, Gerry served as a Captain in the United States Army Judge Advocate Generals Corp. in the Defense Appellate Division in Washington, DC, where he briefed and argued court martial cases, including murder cases. At the same time, he served as a White House Social Aide to the President.
By appointment of the Florida Supreme Court, Gerry has served on the Supreme Court’s Court Efficiency Committee, the Judicial Council of Florida and the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Evaluations Committee. By appointment of the governor, Gerry served as a member of the Fourth District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission and served as its Chair.
