Zachary Potter has represented husbands and wives in many of the largest matrimonial cases in Florida and New York, with billions of dollars in assets at stake. Mr. Potter's record of success in these matters speaks for itself. As just one example, he is known for winning—at both the trial and appellate levels—the largest known child support award entered in a litigated case in Florida, at nearly $200,000 per month for a single child.
Mr. Potter is one of two managing partners of RFB + Fisher Potter Hodas. His services as a litigator are typically sought for his ability to turn around large, complex cases that began on the wrong path and face long odds going forward. Mr. Potter accepts only a few cases at a time, turning down far more than he takes on. The complexity of the case, the justice of the client's cause, and the values the client seeks to vindicate are the most important factors in his case selection.
When Mr. Potter gets involved in a matter, his clients receive clear direction and strong, strategic counsel. Client relationships following the litigation typically endure indefinitely, with Mr. Potter becoming a trusted advisor for all significant legal decisions. His record of achieving victories at both the trial and appellate levels in many of the most high-profile cases filed in Florida spans decades.
Prior to focusing on family law, Mr. Potter was a partner at a large commercial litigation firm. He is a graduate of Yale Law School and Princeton University and a former federal law clerk on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
